Gas Tag hires Capita executive

Gas Tag has appointed a new executive to help grow the business.

Neil Thompson, who has an extensive background working in the construction, supply chain compliance and safety industry, joins the Liverpool headquartered company from Capita where he previously held Sales & Marketing Director positions with their supplier assessment services business.

He has been given responsibility for the growth and development in the market place of Gas Tag.

Gas Tag uses technology to help landlords, housing associations and local authorities to combat the scourge of illegal gas fitters and enforce gas safety regulations.

As soon as a physical Gas Tag is installed on the gas inlet in a property it tracks all the property’s gas appliances, services and installations – and can only be used by a qualified Gas Safe Registered engineer.

Supported by a number of MPs and industry figures, Gas Tag would like to see the introduction of an MOT-style system to ensure strict enforcement of gas safety checks.

Neil Thompson said: “Gas Tag is a business with massive potential and it is an exciting time for me to join the company.”

Paul Durose, co-founder and CEO of Gas Tag, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Neil on board. He brings with him a wealth of both sales and marketing talents. He will be a great addition to our team.”
